Pros

Good place to obtain an entry level position in clinical fields such as biostatistics, project management, medical writing, and data management. It can be difficult to break into these fields. Veristat has several great clients who are passionate about their pipelines/products and patient populations; generally they are very appreciative of work done on their behalf. Periodically, Veristat tries to encourage team building by having such activities as ice cream socials, Halloween carving contest/party, themed food gatherings, company meetings, and Christmas lunch.

Cons

Variable salaries (below industry norm, although may be worthwhile to obtain entry into clinical positions) with mediocre benefits (401k with some matching, health insurance with deductible, and company does not pay for life insurance or disability). Challenging working environment, with poor communication between groups and senior management - silence within the office is encouraged, as is working at your desk during lunch. Greater than 80% billable hours required. Working long hours, including weekends, is not unusual. Better work life balance, greater appreciation for your position, and better salaries can generally be found working for Sponsor/pharmaceutical companies. Higher than average turnover rate.

Pros

I've genuinely enjoyed my time at Veristat so far. The teams I've worked with have been collaborative, approachable, and willing to help, which has made onboarding and learning much easier. The Contracts & Proposals team has a strong structure in place, with clear processes, good documentation, and supportive leadership. There are always people available to answer questions, and I've felt encouraged to learn and take on new responsibilities. The environment is professional while still being friendly and team-oriented.

Cons

As with any growing organization, there are a lot of moving pieces and priorities can shift quickly. Some projects have tight turnaround times, but the team works together well to meet deadlines.

Pros

Good place to learn. Very few development opportunities though.

Cons

Company is very uncertain. You never know what the layoffs are going to look like until it effects your department.
