Pros

100% fully remote, ability so set my own hours, some really great coworkers.

Cons

Upper management blindsided the company with layoffs last year after presenting that while the industry was in a challenging place we were doing great! This type of gaslighting and disregard for non c-suite personnel is endemic. The company made an acquisition after this which led to a lot of redundancies - so more firings, but those that were kept on from the acquired company had little understanding of SOPs or culture and have very little motivation to actually do any work as they've made their money in the deal. A more an more employees were laid off, fired, or left for better pastures more work load was saddled onto the remaining employees. Not simply the work of those in the same position but also having to take on new responsibilities from other positions. So now you're not just a biostatistician you also have be a TMF specialist, and an expert in business development.

Pros

I've genuinely enjoyed my time at Veristat so far. The teams I've worked with have been collaborative, approachable, and willing to help, which has made onboarding and learning much easier. The Contracts & Proposals team has a strong structure in place, with clear processes, good documentation, and supportive leadership. There are always people available to answer questions, and I've felt encouraged to learn and take on new responsibilities. The environment is professional while still being friendly and team-oriented.

Cons

As with any growing organization, there are a lot of moving pieces and priorities can shift quickly. Some projects have tight turnaround times, but the team works together well to meet deadlines.

Pros

Good place to learn. Very few development opportunities though.

Cons

Company is very uncertain. You never know what the layoffs are going to look like until it effects your department.
