Pros
Veritiv seasoned professionals have considerable experience and know the industry well. It was nice being able to work with a capable team. Beyond their professionalism, it was a good group of people who I enjoyed working with. The ability to work remotely is a huge plus. Overall the compensation and benefits were fair and on par with industry averages.
Cons
There is not a clear focus or developed long term strategy. This creates a chaotic environment where you are constantly pushed and micromanaged to run with the flavor of the week and meet short term goals which don't set the business up for long term success. Consequently, nothing you do is ever good enough and you are always questioned as to why you are not doing more. There is little to no recognition even when you do surpass goals. Management takes zero input from their employees on how to grow and change the business for the better, it is their way or no way. Your ideas will be shut down fast. Management prefers to surround themselves with "yes men" and will not value your ideas or listen to your concerns. To achieve success requires dedication and never questioning anything you are asked to do. To achieve this, you should plan on working 60-80 hours / week, never taking vacation or receiving recognition for your efforts. If money is something you value far more than anything else, this could be a great fit for you. If you are willing to work 60-80 hours/week, never question anything, never take vacations and sustain this for 7-10 years, you do have the potential to be in the top 1% of annual pay and make professional athlete / CEO type money. There are a good number of reps who earn 500k+ / year.
