Cons
• Retail sales is not for everyone and the competition can be very stressful; if the company set an aggressive growth objective of 12%, by the time it gets to the retail rep level their managers could be demanding for a surreal 100% improvement (due to the multiplying bonus) • Metrics-oriented environment can lead to cheating, fraud, and misleading customers in order to obtain a bonus • Lots of unprofessional and underqualified people in lower management • Very hard to go to other areas of the company once initiated in Retail Sales
