Pros

Company Matching (401k) Health Benefits

Cons

People who never sold a thing determines sales quota regardless of in store traffic Pay is horrible get taxed 40% on commissions Can't promote outside of sales unless you get promoted to management first regardless of degrees or experience Store buildings are clean but need to be remolded for standing employees Base is 32,000 yearly. 50cents raise yearly 0 work life balance Only 2 weeks of vacation Only 3 closed holidays a year Irregular working hours Upper management only cares about numbers. Verizon retail sales isnt for anyone looking to advance outside of sales Irate customers over sale phones High turn over in sales and customer service Anyone with military or an advanced degree need not apply Redundancy Verizon doesn't care about retail employees. Non smart stores receive products 2-3 months later than smart and art still held at the same quota. Can not live single and pay bills must have second job (rent, car, lights, food etc) -facts! How did glass door rate this company so high again?

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
