Pros

Excellent Salary, Great Benefits, Exposure to advanced & Complex technologies. Like any other Service Provider, you will have experience in complex design and well-named customers

Cons

At Verizon, You are just treated like a number and no standard for the employee who is laid off. If you think you are most productive, skilled and the most qualified that also may not pay off. I was laid off after 5 months. This ruined my career and made it hard for me to hire for another company. Not only that I gave trust to Verizon for my family and my life but this is nothing. I relocated for the job and got laid off. I was laid off during my wife's cancer surgery. If you have stress in your life then be prepared to add Verizon Job loss as additional stress to all your life problems. Your fate also left under Senior Management who will set you up for the layoff if they don't like you or you dont kiss base to them.

Verizon is a fast paced, AI-driven and network-centric environment

Cons

There are many silos of responsibility given how large this company is.

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
