Pros

Like most of the reviews say, Verizon has fantastic benefits. 100% matched 401k and you're vested at 3years, full health benefits on YOUR FIRST DAY OF EMPLOYMENT, they pay for your meals during trainings or meetings, your mileage, you get "RYA" which is essentially bonuses for being a good employee, they pay for your bachelors or in some instances masters as long as it is business related and most managers at good locations make total salary rewards of 90k a year.

Cons

By far the most stressful job you can have next to a crab fisherman. It isn't the numbers that stress us out, its the customers. Separate from Verizon and the customers interaction as a provider/consumer relationship, the general public is just flat out rude and for lack of a better term, dull. I have been in situations with other companies as a consumer where I am frustrated, but I always talk to the person respectfully. I have lost my faith in chivalry across all generations of adults. It is truly sad. #1 con is dealing with the public, generally rude. I know, working in a retail environment and my #1 con is the public. If we had better phone replacement policies, life would be great. But our life work balance is terrible.

Pros

Compensation is competitive but you will work very hard for it. Culture is excellent and exhibited and practiced from the top down. Benefits are excellent and cost reasonable. 401k match and profit sharing. Lots of training and professional development opportunities. Can advance if you're willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is trying to transform into what it wants to be beyond a wireless carrier (cloud?, security?, telematics?, wholesaler?, etc) and is struggling with a vision, resources, and org structure to make it a reality. Several re-organizations over last few years so job security has frequently been a question. Often delayed response to competitors caused by management's concern that acting would result in not meeting Wall Street expectations. Not the "happiest" place to work because no result is ever good enough and successes aren't celebrated because the focus is always on the next weekly/monthly/quarterly goal.
