The entire job, workload is outrages. Prepare to be stressed and micromanaged for 8 hours.
You will be handling multiple messages about 8- 10 simultaneously while timed within 5 minutes. If you do not respond within timeframe you will receive a passive aggressive message from leadership asking if you require help. Regardless if you are tech or regular chat you are just body in a chair with no pay difference. You will develop carper-tunnel, your hands will age tremendously, and your eyes will burn with all the reading and typing and clicking. The remote position will send you two giant monitors, and a old school computer set up. Sups suffocate you with pointless mandatory contest so they can look good to their superiors for group slack interactions that only creates more unnecessary work. They're never available when you actually need approval for anything because of their 6 hour daily meetings where they cant be bothered.
You will be receiving messages from customers online, app and, text messaging. Verizon outsources third parties that do not know anything about the service and those reps just transfer messages they messed up to you after google translating scripts. Now you will be coerced to meet unattainable stats because Verizon encourages customers to text as if they were texting a friend. However if they do reach back out, you will be reprimanded. These metrics are clearly to avoid giving any type of raise in yearly reviews. You will receive "goodies" in the mail, tshirts, mugs, dry soup, self help books for depression but nothing will be done to improve work load or any feedback surveys. Also surveys are not anonymous when your sup makes you answer the survey for their eyes only in slack or asks you when you are doing your survey so they can either live monitor or monitor your answers. You will be required to type out unique responses to 8-10 customers at a time for inquiries like billing, customer services, sales, internet support, international support, promotional support. If a customer does not reply within 5 minutes you receive a new message but if they reply within 6 now you have an additional message. Customers can type obscenities to you as long as they dont actually threaten your life because sometimes people feel in a silly goofy mood. You must upsell, or "show the value" of more Verizon service. Dont even think about transferring to supervisors, not even a option even if you send it to escalations you will be spoken to about it. Finally it does not matter if you perform better than your peers, if they have been here longer they will be able to get a better shift.
Only here because I havent found a way out with the kids and medication, as soon as I do I am out here. I wouldnt wish this job on my worst enemy.
