Pros

-Big improvement in benefits since I was hired -CEO & business unit leaders -Nice building (except for parking)

Cons

-Merit salary increases are very small and don't even keep up with inflation. -The "chief people officer" has zero people skills. 100% insecure. Seems to only cares about what David Roburts (CEO) thinks. To everyone else she is rude and unhelpful, condiscending. Proof - she can't keep a member of her team for more then a year. This has a huge impact on us managers - we cant hire the people we need or finish HR initiatives when our recruiters + business partners change every 4 months. -No covered parking in Arizona, for real?!? -We're all overworked, partially b/c it's hard to hire for open positions with the constant turnover in HR/recruiting.

Verra Mobility Response

UPDATE: The Chief People Officer mentioned in this review is no longer employed at Verra Mobility. ORGINAL RESPONSE: Thank you for the response and rating. I agree that both our benefits and many other aspects of our business have improved over the past 2 years during your tenure. We are making thoughtful investments into our business to help make employee lives simpler so they can focus on delivering results for our customers. Recent employee feedback validates the efficacy of our investments as our engagement score is up to 77% which is industry leading. There is still much to do, but we are making great strides based in great part to the strategy that was set in place by our Chief People Officer and skillfully executed by her team. I clearly disagree with your assertion about our CPO and look at the measurable results of engagement and other key areas of cultural impact such as manager effectiveness, recognition and rewards as all part of her strategy which is helping all employees around the globe. Those transformational results are not achieved without the deft qualities of leadership – vision, purpose, integrity, follow through, care and concern for others and accountability our CPO exudes at the highest level. Moreover, the team is doing a great job on the hiring to fulfill all the work we are doing as part of our transformation as a company. I know and trust that our desire to be a “special place to work” is in good hands with our CPO and her outstanding team. David Roberts

Pros

The company has a strong, collaborative culture where people are genuinely invested in doing high-quality work and supporting each other. There's a lot of exposure to interesting, complex projects, and you're trusted to own your work and make an impact. For anyone who wants to grow professionally, there's real opportunity here. High performers are recognized, and you're given the space to step up and expand your scope.

Cons

Work can be complex and fast paced but a great environment for people who enjoy challenging problems and making meaningful changes.

Pros

They'll mail you a box of popcorn and nuts around Xmas, sometimes.

Cons

Compensation is well below industry average and the benefits are just as bad — healthcare especially is expensive for what little you actually get. There is zero upward mobility. When someone leaves and a role opens up, they will hire externally every single time instead of promoting the people already doing the work. They run intentionally understaffed under the excuse of staying "lean," which just means the people there are overworked with unrealistic deadlines and no relief in sight. Micromanagement is a serious problem throughout the organization. My manager was passive-aggressive and toxic. One-on-ones were essentially monologues — you couldn't get a word in while they rambled about what the team should and shouldn't be doing. When something goes wrong, senior leadership is quick to point fingers downward. There is a clear pattern of blame being shifted onto individual contributors and mid-level managers to protect those at the top.
