Pros
You get to work from home in some departments. 10 federal holidays are paid days off.
Cons
I was initially promised opportunities for growth and was going to start training for project management, but that didn’t happen. Instead, someone hired after me was able to do so. I felt let down and wanted more opportunities to advance that never happened despite getting told so. Pay was also a huge issue and was the final deciding factor that led to my decision to leave. For the amount of work I was doing, often the same thing as others who were paid more than me, the pay discrepancy soured me. I love collaborating and helping others and I know I worked hard. I just couldn’t afford to stay there with my living expenses like rent and bills. Just basic things. With all of those factors, I left.
