Pros

1. Mostly great employees 2. Free breakfast 3. Benefits: average.

Cons

1. Salary: not competitive for the Boston area, grossly below the average. They try to convince you that you will get more with the stock options but it is not true. 2. Commute: the main buildings are all in the Seaport area and since the salary is not enough, you are forced to live in the suburbs and commuting is difficult. 3. Management: my managers openly do not do work and expect their direct reports to do their job. You are expect to give up vacation and work life balance is non existing. Working on the weekends is normal and the only way to get all your work done. However, not all the managers are like this. 4. No work-life balance: whether your manager cares or not about you, the work is too much for everyone ( also due to people constantly leaving) so expect to work more than expected and forget having a life outside of work. 5. No promotions: people do not get promoted, despite deserving it. If you decide for some sick reason to stick it out, you will probably get promoted after 4+ years. 6. Preferences: managers will do anything for the people they like which is generally normal in a workplace. However, they will cover up those people's mistake . 7. Coworkers: they know how to hire passionate people but will either drive the same people to leave or kill their passion. Hence, the people are just dead inside and trying their best to stay afloat. 8. Turn over: there is someone leaving every week. 9. Diversity and Inclusion: they do not practice what they preach and put it on their website just for show. They will mistreat you and tell you that you should put up with it because you are lucky to work "at Vertex" and how Vertex is the best. They love to hire people right out of college because you have no idea what the job world is like and will be more likely to just go along with things. Overall, it is a good place for those out of college who need to get some industry experience but would not consider it for more than 2 years maximum.

Pros

-Compensation -Benefits -Smart and capable co-workers make the day to day easier to navigate

Cons

-Poor leadership (specifically in the Quality organization). - Leadership does not lead by example - It's not unusual to observe a Quality VP or Sr.director taking screenshots of Teams chats (for CYA?). I question the level of trust (in both directions). This behavior creates a toxic environment. - Quality role scope creep- leadership tries to "own" and/or oversee the activities of other departments outside the scope of their QA responsibility which makes execution of processes cumbersome and, in many cases, non-value added and confusion over responsibility ownership.
