Pros

Nice office with unlimited snacks, good people (if you are on the right team), work feels somewhat impactful, biggest player in microtransit right now

Cons

I'm glad NY passed a pay transparency law so that people can finally see how Via underpays its employees - people usually end up leaving and getting a good 30-50% more than what they were getting. There is no annual performance review so you never know how you are doing until someone just tells you - in which case it could be months or even years after you joined. For a 10-year old company this large, I question why there is no annual performance review in place.

Pros

Incredibly supportive management. Extremely healthy work environment. Company culture is top notch. Benefits are well above market average. Using PTO is encouraged, and when on PTO general duties are handled by supportive coworkers.

Cons

Extremely fast-paced environment. Real-time issues can arise, and can be stressful to resolve. Remote work can feel isolating, however, managers and coworkers are extremely easy to reach.

Pros

Most people you work with are nice, PTO is respected.

Cons

No strategy to speak of, the product is not good other than the acquisitions. Customers are treated poorly. C-suite is extremely tone deaf. Decisions come randomly from above with no bearing on what people are doing. There is no review cycle on purpose, the only people who get raises have other offers so many people are leaving. Which is a good idea because the stock price is down so all RSUs are underwater. Most teams are horribly overworked and underpaid and the one day a week lunch is getting worse.
