      Pros

      Was a really great place to start after college, lots of challenging problems, new grad employees, events, and exciting things to look forward to.

      Cons

      Due to a series of mishaps with satellites and general COVID derailments Viasat has been a bit of a sinking ship for a while now. It has also become quite corporatized and lost its appeal as a small private sector company - I hope one day it will return to what it was once like but am not very optimistic.

      Good work-life balance with flexible scheduling

      Cons

      Over the past several years, the company has lacked a clear long-term strategy, resulting in frequent reorganizations, shifting priorities, and multiple rounds of layoffs. Decision-making often feels reactive rather than strategic, creating uncertainty and making it difficult to execute long-term plans. Internal processes can also be overly complex, slowing down work and reducing efficiency.
