Pros
Decent pay when you actually manage to hit horrible goals, and fellow store level employees help to keep each other motivated against the tyranny that is upper management.
Cons
Everything else. I have been mentally abused to the point of severe anxiety for just about every little thing imaginable. The management, from the district level and up, are so unbelievably ruthless about the most ridiculous things, preferring to belittle and humiliate as their main method of motivation. HR is fully aware of how store managers and consultants are treated but refuse to do anything, going as far as to tell upper management who is calling and complaining about them--anonymously, I might add--and about their practices. There are unpaid conference calls as early as 8 AM to punish representatives for being slightly under a single goal, despite excelling at everything else. These calls are nothing but a show to see who management can pick on and humiliate to try and make an example out of them. I cannot stress enough the amount of mental abuse that is dished out to employees on every store level. I've seen too many employees quit, cry, and consider themselves failures as a result of this abuse. It's an incredibly unhealthy work environment. The pay structure has changed over five times in the past six months alone. Recently, they've implemented a new way to punish reps by taking away 25% of their earned commission if they do not hit their sales targets. Reps already make pennies on the dollar without hitting their impossible goals, but to add insult to injury, they've decided to take even more away. Why? They can. Reps are encouraged to lie and cheat their way to a sale, and the company forces so many redundant charges on the customer they might as well be committing fraud. A $20 set up charge to do the exact same thing the corporate locations for Verizon do for free? Not to mention the accessory prices and device prices are 10-15% higher than corporate stores, making it more difficult to sell. Prices keep going up. Employee turnover is remarkable.
