Pros
The people - bright, friendly and humble individuals who work in all sectors of the organization. It feels like we are working toward a common goal to improve health care delivery in this country. I work in the non-clinical side of the business, so my review is specific to VillageMD vs. Village Medical. I feel well compensated, benefits are nothing spectacular unless you utilize Village Medical. Promising growth/job security based on the multi-billion dollar funding from Walgreens, with a commitment from the co-founders that we'll remain a separate company.
Cons
I get that one could argue we're experiencing growth pains, but the sheer amount of work being placed on teams as we only continue to expand our Village Medical footprint seems completely unrealistic to deliver without burning out the entire company. Most people I work with are new to the company, myself included. No one knows what the right processes are due because of poor documentation and organizational structure, and we're becoming increasingly inefficient because of it. People are working blindly and continue to re-create the wheel. I don't believe we have the body power to support our growth in the near and long term, both from a clinical and non-clinical staffing standpoint. Lots of senior employees have left. There does not seem to be concern about our turnover, and with reduced body power it seems like we've committed way more than we are capable of, and it's stressful to see how much work we have ahead of us as our foundational processes and overall structure lack.
