Pros
The mission is exciting, and the company's story is compelling. VG represents itself as an example of how aerospace could be.
Cons
VG does not live up to its own expectation, or anyone's expectations. The "Virgin culture" might be what makes Virgin engeering companies so ineffectual. To put it succinctly, "Virgin culture" was developed for the marketing world. Its great at selling a dream/vision. But when it comes to engineering and making stuff, it holds back progress. "Virgin culture" caused the company to hire people based on "vibes" and "fit". Not based on fundamental knowledge, track record or tenacity. Inside the company there is a sense that no one has experience building an aircraft or manufacturing a composite. Its all treated like a new "art" that has to be developed from scratch. It takes hard people, with hard skills, to surpass hard technical challenges. The people that have what it takes cant be found at VG.
