      Pros

      Great faculty, very good management and smart and devoted students make VCU a great place for higher education. The diversity at VCU helps one learn so much outside the classroom too.

      Cons

      There are a few incidences like robbery and others, which I guess can happen at any university in proximity to the downtown. But, if one doesn't go out at odd times and avoids unfriendly neighborhood, they should be fine.

      Pros

      They care about the employees. There are multiple efforts to support everyone, it is a welcoming environment, HR is very supportive.

      Cons

      VCU is incredibly bureaucratic and poorly ran. Things move slow, very slow. More slow than normal universities should. It isn't just "oh this is academia, things move slow." It's legitimate poor management across multiple levels of leadership.
