      Pros

      Great salary, nice perks you would never get in the US, gracious students, work life balance is humane for a university.

      Cons

      People are leaving in spite of the great salary due to a toxic work environment, mostly due to negligence and mismanagement of upper admin. Not a research environment despite the lip service. Hierarchical structure not found in most US universities, which disempowers faculty/staff. Main campus does not provide support, they just want the money. Quality of school has gone downhill, do not uproot your family to move to Qatar.

      Pros

      They care about the employees. There are multiple efforts to support everyone, it is a welcoming environment, HR is very supportive.

      Cons

      VCU is incredibly bureaucratic and poorly ran. Things move slow, very slow. More slow than normal universities should. It isn't just "oh this is academia, things move slow." It's legitimate poor management across multiple levels of leadership.
