The pros include: job security, a highly diverse student body and work force, competitive benefits and retirement packages, education reimbursement and tuition waiver program available for full-time employees.

Cons

The cons include: few opportunities for advancement, stagnant salaries, heavily bureaucratic environment that moves at a snails pace, very little effective top-down communication.

Pros

They care about the employees. There are multiple efforts to support everyone, it is a welcoming environment, HR is very supportive.

Cons

VCU is incredibly bureaucratic and poorly ran. Things move slow, very slow. More slow than normal universities should. It isn't just "oh this is academia, things move slow." It's legitimate poor management across multiple levels of leadership.
