      Pros

      Imagine a great, diverse range of students and you have VCU.

      Cons

      The President has no soul and, quite frankly, the 93% acceptance rate is overstuffing programs and classrooms. I wouldn't send my kid here.

      Pros

      They care about the employees. There are multiple efforts to support everyone, it is a welcoming environment, HR is very supportive.

      Cons

      VCU is incredibly bureaucratic and poorly ran. Things move slow, very slow. More slow than normal universities should. It isn't just "oh this is academia, things move slow." It's legitimate poor management across multiple levels of leadership.
