Pros

Upper limit of the national graduate research assistant stipend scale. 21,000 a year as a masters student is hard to beat.

Cons

Very limited in course selection and possible research collaboration/opportunities in the field of plant ecology. Unless you are interested in birds or amphibians I would not suggest Virginia Tech as a good place to learn about ecology.

Pros

- easy work - Flexible timing and can work remotely

Cons

- Assigned a deadline of 2 weeks to grade about 72 or 144 assignments. Should have proper time management skills while managing the academics. Although it is easy work.

Pros

The experience was great. The PI was amazing and kind and I learned a lot, definitely would do it again. It yielded great results for me such as publication. I recommend for medical school or graduate school.

Cons

Difficult to justify if you don’t plan to have a research career, graduate or professional school because the pay is lower than other positions available in Blacksburg.
