Pros

As you are working in a field that is constantly changing, requiring you to frequently re-up your skills and learn new things, a technical oriented school like Virginia Tech is a great place to work. Education benefits and access to great learning resources go a long way to improving your skill set, and are encouraged.

Cons

While the benefits are good, the pay can be a good bit under the industry average. Couple this with the location - mostly rural southwest Virginia - and you are up against some tough odds to find meaningful competition to force salaries upward.

Pros

- easy work - Flexible timing and can work remotely

Cons

- Assigned a deadline of 2 weeks to grade about 72 or 144 assignments. Should have proper time management skills while managing the academics. Although it is easy work.

Pros

The experience was great. The PI was amazing and kind and I learned a lot, definitely would do it again. It yielded great results for me such as publication. I recommend for medical school or graduate school.

Cons

Difficult to justify if you don’t plan to have a research career, graduate or professional school because the pay is lower than other positions available in Blacksburg.
