      - can do research, take courses and earn at the same time - flexible hours - availability of VT resources

      Cons

      - not much raise in assistantship every year - less cheap options to commute from Blacksburg to other places via air - small college town environment

      Pros

      The experience was great. The PI was amazing and kind and I learned a lot, definitely would do it again. It yielded great results for me such as publication. I recommend for medical school or graduate school.

      Cons

      Difficult to justify if you don’t plan to have a research career, graduate or professional school because the pay is lower than other positions available in Blacksburg.
