Pros

10% RRSP matching, 1600$ for Benefits for family. These two benefits are much better than any other service company in calgary. Good technology sometime opportunity for growth but not calgary office

Cons

CGG Calgary is the worst company to work. if you really want to act in service company then work with any other one, there are lot of options in calgary. CGG has worst management. I cannot trust people can work in a hostile environment like this. Your processing manager will tell you directly to keep your head down and work like slave. I cannot stress enough that this place has no work life balance concept. It does not matter how many hour you put in they will lay you off in any case. Diversity is a big joke here, Center Boss prefers Asians because I guess they agree with Boss style of management. . It's a sweatshop, you can use it as a stepping stone if you are not getting anything. But still, I will advise against it. Now, talking about management, bad decisions. Company is on verge of closin down calgary office, lets wait and watch

Pros

Viridien is a great company to work for, with a positive and professional working environment. The company has a strong international footprint, a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds, and a good balance of technical depth and business ambition. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and highly capable, and the leadership team is generally accessible and open to discussion. The work can be challenging and intellectually interesting, especially for people who enjoy technical, global, and client-facing environments.

Cons

Career progression could be much clearer and more structured. Promotion paths, development plans, and expectations for advancement are not always easy to understand, which creates uncertainty for employees who want to grow within the company. Salaries are also slightly below market average in some areas, and compensation should remain competitive to retain strong talent. Like many global technical companies, priorities can also shift quickly, so clearer communication and consistency would help.
