Pros

Better benefits including health and 401K. Friendly colleagues.

Cons

Talking about Houston site, processing department. One of the worst management in a company with such a scale. Better benefits but worse compensation since almost every processor works long time. Many of them work 60 hours a week without compensation (aka project based). About 70% internationals, bad communication and worst time and project management. Almost every project runs into time crisis. Sometimes waiting for results/writing reports even during client meeting/reporting. In such a geophysics company, management prefer any applicants except those with geophysics background and make them work extremely hard. You know what I mean. No formal documentation, leave alone software development guidelines and coding styles. Most code was written by unprofessionals without any comments. Almost everything formatted in PPT. What a joke!

Pros

Viridien is a great company to work for, with a positive and professional working environment. The company has a strong international footprint, a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds, and a good balance of technical depth and business ambition. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and highly capable, and the leadership team is generally accessible and open to discussion. The work can be challenging and intellectually interesting, especially for people who enjoy technical, global, and client-facing environments.

Cons

Career progression could be much clearer and more structured. Promotion paths, development plans, and expectations for advancement are not always easy to understand, which creates uncertainty for employees who want to grow within the company. Salaries are also slightly below market average in some areas, and compensation should remain competitive to retain strong talent. Like many global technical companies, priorities can also shift quickly, so clearer communication and consistency would help.
