Pros

1. CGG Seismic Imaging hires people from all kinds of scientific background, such as Math, Physics, EE, Biology, CS.... So CGG is a good transition company from any background to Oil and Energy. 2. People in CGG Seismic Imaging is very kind and the social relationship in CGG seismic imaging department is simple. 3. Good immigration support. Now CGG is E-verified. Supports H1b and Green Card. 4. Cash bonus every month and can be up to 50% percent of your base salary if your level is high.

Cons

1. Very bad work-life balance in Seismic processing department, especially for new hires without much experience. Though working after hour is not required but some tasks are tough and you have to expend your working hours. 2. Seems the seismic imaging department policy is to push the new hire hard with low base salary and keep the experienced employees by high bonus. 3. Because of reason 3, most employees (2/3) will left CGG Seismic Imaging in 5 years. Others left will be promoted.

Pros

Viridien is a great company to work for, with a positive and professional working environment. The company has a strong international footprint, a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds, and a good balance of technical depth and business ambition. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and highly capable, and the leadership team is generally accessible and open to discussion. The work can be challenging and intellectually interesting, especially for people who enjoy technical, global, and client-facing environments.

Cons

Career progression could be much clearer and more structured. Promotion paths, development plans, and expectations for advancement are not always easy to understand, which creates uncertainty for employees who want to grow within the company. Salaries are also slightly below market average in some areas, and compensation should remain competitive to retain strong talent. Like many global technical companies, priorities can also shift quickly, so clearer communication and consistency would help.
