Pros

The only good thing about this company is the people below management level, from supervisors to geos.

Cons

1. Management Over the years, promotions have been based solely on technical skills, resulting in a lack of effective people management among current managers. Their toxic egos drive them to micromanage the department instead of focusing on their primary responsibility: managing people. Major decisions impacting employees' work lives are made by a select few managers and their favored employees who share their mentality. The current management's preference for a toxic work environment is evident, as they prioritize manipulation and exploitation over fostering a healthy workplace culture. 2. Diversity Diversity at CGG is encouraged, but only on a surface level. While you may look different, but you can not think differently from management's way of thinking. 3. Salary Salaries at CGG are generally quite low, with minimal raises until promotion. There's inconsistency in pay among individuals at the same level with similar experience. Promotions are often unfair, with instances of juniors and seniors receiving identical salaries. Favoritism heavily influences salary decisions. 4. Transperency It's doubtful whether anyone in management truly understands the concept of transparency.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and share your perspective on the different topics. Employee experience is a very personal journey, and we are sorry to know that your time with us did not meet your expectations. We'd like to take this opportunity to share some internal initiatives related to the areas mentioned above. 1. Management: Viridien has put in place over 3 years ago a program dedicated to our managers: 5 pillars of management. This was a program developed internally by Viridien leaders themselves and aimed for our leaders. Its aim is to align the concept of management and emphasize the 5 main pillars of successful management. In addition to an introductory session on 5 Pillars, a portal with a wide range of content and development tools is available to our managers. 2. Diversity: Diversity is an incredibly broad topic and at Viridien we promote discussion and action on diversity through the IDEA program (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action). In addition to an annual calendar of observation dates, HR and our IDEA ambassadors organize local actions throughout the year, such as a conference with Erin Meyer, author of the book The Culture Map last May. 3. Salary: Our corporate compensation team works with local HR and leading market surveys to ensure that compensation is in line with market practices. It is important to emphasize that each company has a different total compensation policy, which includes not only base salary, but also bonuses, benefits, etc. 4. Transparency: We encourage a transparent and continuous communication environment and use different communications channels such as local and global Town Halls, Viva Engage, our In the Loop intranet, etc. We wish you the best in your future endeavors! Viridien Team

Pros

Viridien is a great company to work for, with a positive and professional working environment. The company has a strong international footprint, a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds, and a good balance of technical depth and business ambition. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and highly capable, and the leadership team is generally accessible and open to discussion. The work can be challenging and intellectually interesting, especially for people who enjoy technical, global, and client-facing environments.

Cons

Career progression could be much clearer and more structured. Promotion paths, development plans, and expectations for advancement are not always easy to understand, which creates uncertainty for employees who want to grow within the company. Salaries are also slightly below market average in some areas, and compensation should remain competitive to retain strong talent. Like many global technical companies, priorities can also shift quickly, so clearer communication and consistency would help.
