Pros

1. Competitive Salary 2. Medical Insurance for Self and Family with Top up option 3. Free Cab Facility 4. Subsidized Meals

Cons

During periods of organizational restructuring, Technical Program Management roles are often disproportionately affected, despite being critical individual contributors who enable the scaling and on-time delivery of technology programs. Unfortunately, in teams such as DAP, internal politics can overshadow performance and value creation. A recurring concern is that some Engineering Directors and VPs, who lack sufficient technical expertise, tend to dismiss input from Technical Program Managers. This undermines collaborative problem-solving and hinders innovation. TPMs are not just facilitators—they often bring strong technical acumen and strategic foresight that can significantly improve delivery outcomes. If Visa truly aims to scale effectively, it is imperative that leadership, especially at the Director and VP levels within Engineering, be re-evaluated—not only for their leadership capabilities but also for their depth of technical understanding. Without this, decision-making becomes siloed, and valuable voices are suppressed. Regrettably, to protect leadership layers, the organization sometimes positions the middle layer—those driving execution—as scapegoats. This practice is not just demoralizing; it’s ethically questionable. In summary, if you value a workplace that embraces constructive collaboration and accountability over politics and blame-shifting, this environment might not be the right fit

Pros

Excellent work-life balance, strong 401(k) match, and generally good benefits. There are smart, hardworking people across the company from all walks of life, and the Visa name still carries weight on a resume.

Cons

The work-life balance comes with a tradeoff: innovation moves at a glacial pace. In my experience, Visa was a highly political organization where visibility and relationships often mattered more than performance. Career growth felt slow, especially for high-performing mid-career employees looking to expand their scope or take ownership. There was constant organizational churn. In two years, I had three managers and made it through multiple reorgs, but our entire team lived in constant fear of ongoing layoffs. Layoffs and restructuring felt far more common than leadership acknowledged, which created a disconnect between company messaging and employee reality. The lack of trust for executive leadership is readily apparent across all internal channels. My org was not particularly valued, compensation lagged the market, and the return-to-office rollout was/continues to be handled poorly and rigidly. If you're looking for stability, predictable work, and reasonable hours, Visa can be a good fit. If you're a high performer looking for speed, creativity, ownership, and growth, there are better places to spend your time (and your paycheck will probably be higher).
