Pros

Nice new building - hybrid schedule

Cons

Toxic leadership and toxic culture. It is very clique focused here. The favoritism is so obvious and disheartening. If you are not in the leadership clique or on their approved list they will bully you until you quit. You will be branded as ‘negative’ and pushed out. This office is full of gossip and people who try to tear you down instead of build you up. They have no resources so you will be doing the job of three people. There is no such thing as 8-5 hours you are working so much more than that due to the ridiculous workload you are given due to the lack of resources. Their systems are so old and dated you will be going backwards and have no opportunity to learn anything new to help you stay competitive in today’s market. The leadership come from small companies and have no idea how to grow a company and promote a positive workplace. Everyone here at all levels thrives on drama. They are stuck in their ways and are not forward thinking. Even when good ideas are presented leadership is not able to execute. They always place blame on others and do not hold themselves accountable for anything. It’s always someone else’s fault. Company is so small no room for advancement or lateral moves. Don’t waste your time here you will have nothing to gain.

Pros

The pay was nice and some of the coworkers were great to work with.

Cons

It’s a for profit company hiding behind a non profit mask. They don’t care about their employees or the patients they’re supposed to care for. The coworkers I worked with directly in my lab were amazing, but the people in the reference lab were extremely rude. Heaven forbid you call the reference lab on a Saturday and the on call tech has to come in to work on a stat sample. You instantly become their verbal punching bag, especially if you interrupted their grocery shopping. Policies change randomly and nobody bothers communicating anything properly. We used to get 5.25 hours of PTO every two weeks, then they changed it to 3 hours of PTO. If 1st shift is short staffed, they constantly pull people from 2nd and 3rd shift, leaving those shifts short too. But when 2nd or 3rd shift is struggling, nobody from 1st shift ever stays to help. People also get fired out of nowhere, then they turn around and hire less qualified friends and family members to work in the lab. They’ll fire someone with degree in medical laboratory science and who has been there for 3 years claiming they “don’t meet minimum requirements,” then hire the director’s friend with a computer science degree a week later.
