Pros

Flexible hours and specialties to work in. Fantastic to see into the life of clinical staff and understand medicine from a new perspective for people with minimal clinical experience. Great training program and follow up on training and development. Opportunities to advance available often as scribes tend to move on to med or PA school or nursing practice.

Cons

Pay is relatively low. No clear available HR representation. Advancement opportunities don’t necessarily pay much more.
