Pros
The people on the ground are mostly good hearts trying to do good things. The patients and clients are great. Serving the community feels good.
Cons
Lack of accountability for bullies and ineffective staff. Lack of attention to detail in the payroll and HR departments - their errors costing Vivent and the staff a lot of money. Constant turnover in both HR and every other department. Marketing is gone. Retaliatory behavior to compliance reporting is endemic. Vicarious trauma should be expected - without much support other than EAP and if you’re lucky a good team. Burning out good leaders and undervaluing them. Undervaluing staff period and refusal to adopt industry standards such as remote work. Constant turnover makes it harder to develop therapeutic rapport with your clients and patients because they keep getting abandoned due to the agency refusing to value their core staff. Constant development of new senior positions without the additional growth positions for front line to complete the new tasks these senior leaders will want. Compliance nightmare. They aren’t delivering on grants in practice only on paper and case management covers for other departments doing activities not technically covered by Ryan White funding. Overpromising without considerations of capacity. Someone else could use this grant money to actually deliver since Vivent refuses to. They’ve become Corporate in their attitude but not in their capacity to grow and maintain. It’s a sinking ship. Senior leadership is ridiculously out of touch. Your clients and patients will suffer as a result of their inaction, as you watch people not being held accountable for refusal to provide due diligence. Their praise is fake. Their initiatives are hollow. Their DEI initiatives have lost steam and its really for optics.
