Pros

Phenomenal PTO offerings Great coworkers Amazing clients Truly innovative medical home model

Cons

They pay is low. Insultingly low. Calling employees into meeting after meeting after meeting (interrupting their day) to smile and talk about how much you care about them and they are the backbone of the operation, and then pay your C-Suite 10x the Case Managers is a slap in the face. Additionally, you can only use their transition related healthcare bonus if you also have their health insurance. They rolled out tons of benefits in the last six months but most people can't use any of them. At the KC office, there are two managers over social services with WILDLY different approaches. Both have insane turnover rates, but one is worse. She can't leave you alone for a whole hour without feeling compelled to micromanage you. I had not even finished my 90-day training period when I was asked to begin taking on additional duties, for no change in pay. The turnover rate in staff leaves remaining staff routinely covering clients that aren't on their caseload. Clients slip through the gaps as a result. Case loads are way too high, especially when leadership is constantly adding responsibilities and demanding more "quality" interactions. There are a lot of other, somewhat petty complaints I have, but this one isn't petty. Accountability. The number of meetings I had to sit through where the interim CEO gave speech after speech about how Vivent values transparency while telling employees not to say anything to anyone, especially donors or government auditors, about the CEO being under investigation for improper conduct, is staggering.

Pros

Good pay, generous paid time off. mental health days, personal days. birthday holiday.

Cons

top heavy - CEO is wonderful and hard working, but takes in a HUGE salary for the non profit world. fine but the pay disparity is questionable. Could use more options for remote work or flexible schedule.

Pros

Meaningful mission and opportunity to serve vulnerable populations. Some staff members are dedicated and genuinely care about clients. Valuable experience gained in community-based prevention work.

Cons

Significant issues with team dynamics and lack of professional boundaries across roles. Nursing staff in particular demonstrated inconsistent professionalism, including poor communication, lack of accountability, and behavior that contributed to a stressful work environment. There appeared to be limited support for staff experiencing burnout or mental health challenges, despite the nature of the work. Case management dynamics at times felt more adversarial than collaborative, and boundaries for roles such as Prevention Specialists were not consistently respected. Overall, internal culture often detracted from the ability to effectively serve clients.
