RTO mishandled - Anonymous employee Volvo Group Employee Review

The company has wildly mishandled the 5 day return to office (RTO) policy. First, mandating RTO after 5 years without a comprehensive company wide communication or justifiable rationale is a shame. It feels controlling and patronizing and doesn’t reflect the culture of the company that I joined years ago. There aren’t enough parking spaces or desks. They’ve gone fully open concept to try to cram as many people into a handful of buildings as they can, which just leads to distracting, noisy environments under fluorescent lights. Maintaining the hybrid model and/or more dedicated office spaces would lend itself to more productivity.
