Pros
HGST is focused on being the technology and cost leader in the HDD industry. They have a warm, open culture and lots of smart people.
Cons
The merger with WD slowed down or stopped a lot of the forward momentum that the company had. It also caused a whole bunch of good people to leave. It may take a while for them to build back the talent pool and accelerate growth.
