Pros

Nand flash business is still growing even though the prices has gone down. Working in WD(previously known as Sandisk) as a prod eng, it has it perks of you can be responsible/take lead in charge of products, understand the development cycles. Pretty busy, it has a very wide job scope. Everything is under you. FA/Production/Test/Coordination/Debugging/Validation. You could choose to take up a busy life or sedentary life. As long as you could write something good during your weekly presentation, you will be fine.

Cons

Management problems where higher level eng/managers are unable to recruit more eng due to hiring freeze. The job is so busy until you are unable to fully commit on development/ extra learning. If such skill are required to perform certain tasks, it is mostly developed on the fly. One thing we couldnt understand. WD is still focusing more on HDD than SSD while shutting more plants down.
