Pros

Great pay and benefits, at the expense of your self care.

Cons

I was hired to be a remote employee but was forced to commute to a coworking space 67 miles away from my house. First it started as "oh just come in 1 day a week, 2, 3, 4, 5" 5 days a week commuting to bring my laptop to a tiny shared space to work for 8 hours and bring my laptop back home (TL;DR Waste of time). It even got to the point that I needed to bring my dog into the office with me for his separation anxiety. I asked multiple times why I couldn't do the same work from home without the wear and tear on my car or the struggle it put on my marriage and sobirety to commute 3.5 hours each day and it always fell on deaf ears. I quit shortly before the max exodus of the company offering severance pay to anyone who wasn't happy. Travel was also stated to be moderate but I was traveling 2 & 3 times a month often on short notice. When I did quit the CEO asked me why and I explained honestly it was because I was hired to work remote as stated in my job offer signed by her and she responded with "Well I don't read those, wasn't it nice you could bring your dog here? What if you worked from home 2 days a week would you stay?" No. I felt like I was lied to from the begining and I just made it work because I cared about helping others in recovery. Also I found it strange for a company to have employees travel and expect them to share hotel rooms on trips away.
