Training in 2020 has been a challenge with the pandemic. Regrettably, as both a safety precaution and a cost-savings measure, WGI pulled back the reins considerably with overhead costs that included historically much higher commitments to training. You’ll be happy to learn that in a few days we will publish the 2021 training calendar and there are considerably more opportunities compared to last year. Please work with HR and your supervisor to enroll in areas of interest. Likewise, if you see training of interest outside of WGI’s programming, please bring those details to your supervisor for approvals on the individual level. If you have ideas, please let HR know!

Pros

Excellent benefits, departments are very cooperative, professional environment, fair workload, good company morale, and encourages professional/educational development and business innovation.

Cons

Room for improvement with downstream communication, some departments are more rewarding to work in than others, growth and potential of promotion is strictly limited by education or certification level and much more difficult to accomplish for lower level employees, and very little to no SOPs in place for certain procedures.
