We appreciate your opinions on WGI being a fun place to work and on employee terminations. Enjoying the work environment is critical to our culture and success and yes, there is significant effort focused on client satisfaction and work product delivery, all while maintaining a fun and safe environment. Regarding the comment on WGI firing people all the time, I’d like you to be informed on the facts. First, WGI terminated just over 5% of our workforce in 2021 for a multitude of reasons, some related to safety, performance, and violation of polices, but all for good reason. Second, the average involuntary terminations across all U.S. businesses in 2021 was approximately 30%, so in comparison WGI performed exceptionally well. Third, within our peer group involuntary turnover averages about 4%, which is statically similar to WGI’s rate. While we would always like to see WGI do better, involuntary turnover is largely outside of our control. However, we are constantly working with professional consultants to coach and teach our hiring managers on areas of focus that enhance decision making at the time of hire, with the goal being better hiring decisions to reduce turnover.

Pros

Excellent benefits, departments are very cooperative, professional environment, fair workload, good company morale, and encourages professional/educational development and business innovation.

Cons

Room for improvement with downstream communication, some departments are more rewarding to work in than others, growth and potential of promotion is strictly limited by education or certification level and much more difficult to accomplish for lower level employees, and very little to no SOPs in place for certain procedures.
