I was placed in a temp role assisting probably the worst person I've ever supported in my career. He didn't show the first day I started, and I was literally given two pages of non-information about how to do things, then told that 'there's nothing they can tell me about my job description, because they don't really know what it would be..." since I've assisted people for over 10 years, I had an inkling of what they needed. They'd recently let the last person go, and from what I could tell, it wasn't a good situation, so that's always a challenge to come into... Well, I can see why this person had 5 other assistants in less than a year. He was the most obnoxious person I've supported - he made Miranda in the Devil Wears Prada look like Mother Theresa. I'm not young, so his attitude never got to me. But it was very clear after I spoke to HR that they were there to protect him, so when I got the call from my agency after I left that my assignment ended, I was relieved.
