Pros
WPS is a company in transition and is hiring new people with a focus on cutting-edge skills. Existing employees are receiving training and opportunities to learn new skills. There is a LOT of opportunity here and a lot of energy and a desire to catch up and/or leapfrog peer companies. New tools have been purchased and WPS is learning how to leverage them - so it's a great way to learn lots of newer technologies. If you are looking for meaningful work, as I was, this is a great place to go! Most benefits are good to great. Managers are good - giving clear direction and setting expectations. Good HR department, great recruiting staff. IT uses Agile and some Agilefall/waterfall. Java and .NET shop (equal parts of both).
Cons
Older technologies exist (though we're replacing many of them over the next few years) and there is an older culture that rivals the newer culture - so there are those who are anxious to change and those who are comfortable with the status quo. Upper management recognizes the need to change and they have the willingness to push forward for change. PTO policy is substandard. Beltline commute sucks. PMO is relatively new and maturing. Government shop.
