Pros
a structured and mature organization with various opportunities to gain skills.
Cons
Unfortunately too many to list but will share some high level ones: - The company is becoming bloated on top with many VPs who have significant compensation and benefit packages - IT is struggling with a less than capable CIO who is well intentioned but not up to task given the complexity of the business and her ability to lead. - Financially the company is breaking even or making money every year yet they continually and consistently go after reducing benefits and limit pay increases to the regular staff - the union staff are finally getting what salaried staff have been saying all along, they are now on the chopping block - Essentially many of the benefits that are left are so outrageously inadequate (health insurance is $4000 deductible with $200 premium/month, no pension and very difficult to get a bonus (often times it is so small it is not worth the effort), the yearly pay increases are also miniscule, employee’s "total compensation" has dropped dramatically and likely to continue on that path. - Workloads are exceptionally heavy and expectations on staff time continue to be terribly high and unrealistic - Employee morale is very low and no end in sight to the very stressful and horrible environment that has been institutionalized by the leadership team. - Many good staff already left and many more are looking. I strongly suggest considering other options on the market before committing yourself to this company, you can thank me later.
