Pros

Paid more hourly than most restaurants. You get a vacation check every 6 months if you've worked at least 28 hours every week. After you've worked for a year you receive a $100 Christmas bonus every year.

Cons

Management does not keep floor stocked enough with essential menu items and condiments that customers NEED! Things like steaks, ketchup, to go silverware, butter for waffles. How do you run out of these things so often? We get blamed as their waitresses though it's not our responsibility You have to wash EVERY dish that your customers use including pots and pans. Management doesn't really acknowledge how hard you work. You have SOO many jobs to do at once. Juggling between being a janitor by cleaning bathrooms to bus person and taking orders by phone AND playing waitress. Cooks: receive bonuses on their checks per sales. Many are cheated out of their bonuses. They also have to cook by themselves for a whole restaurant and sometimes it's way too busy for one cook. It's REQUIRED that you work Christmas or you will be fired. Everybody have to work Christmas day. There is hardly any opportunity for advancement.

Pros

Solid pay for the industry Okay benefits Employee stock purchase plan Pretty consistent hours The actual work is difficult, but fun after you get good at it. Upward momentum is difficult, but the pay scales very well if you work your way up into management. Prepare for intense work if you do though.

Cons

They hire everyone, and your team will make or break your experience. Genuine safety concerns on 3rd shift. You need to be prepared for people to act out. Senior management only have operation management skills. They are not good "people" managers at all. Only "number" managers.
