I worked for Walmart for 4 years. It is hard to recommend this company as an employer. - Inventory Management Walmart Employee Review

Pros

It is a good company to gain retail experience. This is a great job for a young person that does not need much money. If you are looking for a temporary "job" just for money, it is easy to find work here. There are possibilities for advancement if you make the right friends.

Cons

Hard work and valid job skills mean nothing if you do not "know" someone. Management seems to be trained to treat employees poorly as a "standard operating procedure". You can put out double the productivity of co-workers, and your yearly evaluation will not reflect it. You can work full-time and still qualify for, and need, food stamps and other public assistance to feed your family. People who work hard are treated poorly while poor workers have an easy time. I have never been treated so poorly at any company I have worked for in my entire life.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
