Pros

I came to Wal-Mart during the res-session of 2008 after my business went under, I was able to move up very quickly so with in two years I was promoted to Assistant Manager. Wal-Mart is one of the few companies where job security is obtainable as long as you push to succeed and grow with the company.

Cons

As a new management associate I have seen the work world out side of wal-mart, and been a business owner. So fresh eyes and management skills are a plus but is not taken good by veteran management. Someone like myself who has owned a business and focused on customer service and the creation of positive action plans is not looked at well with in a store.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
