Pros

-Fast paced enviroment, Change is constant so even though you are there a long time it goes by fast. -Interaction with associates, All the people you get to know is great and it's very diverse so you get to learn about alot of cultures. -Customer interaction, yes some customers are bad but the majority are good if you just had more time to help them. Sometimes, in order to get a note done you must ignore the customer's because the boss will not accept customer service as a reason that something did not get done. It's sad to say but you are better off focusing on the task and blowing off the customer. -Always new things to learn- so many different things Walmart is in to makes it fun. -Everyday is different

Cons

-Poor training- GLMS is a foundation, Poor follow up training. They expect you to learn on the fly. If you make a mistake its over dramatized. -Hours are long (13-14 hours per shift) On your feet and moving quickly. -To much drama in some stores, gossip, lying and backstabbing is common. -Sometimes it seems like something changed no one communicated the change from upper management and then your in trouble because you didn't execute the change (poor communication) and then cut throat accountability when you haven't been provided with the tools to get the job done. -Not a supportive enviroment, you either sink or swim and there are plenty of sharks in the tank. -Poor organization of merchandising expectations.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
