Pros
Wal-Mart allows the bold to be promoted fairly easily with hard work and sometimes a willingness to transfer. Health insurance is very affordable. Pay is NOT as bad as people believe, especially if you have experience before being hired.
Cons
If the management team doesn't have the right attitude, the entire store can and will suffer. Morale, efficiency, and effectiveness all decline quickly. Sometimes there's just too much change to keep up with. The new pad system, cutting out department managers and giving each DM several departments but no more associates, is tough. In larger stores with large payrolls, this is tough, and in smaller stores, it's extremely tough if you're a department manager, ZMS, or even assistant manager. You'll go from supervisor to zoner, every single time.
