Pros

Easy to manage. Most people that work for Wal-Mart stay there because there are no other jobs in the area. Have you ever seen the associates faces at Wal-Mart. Very few are smiling and actually enjoy their job. Plus corportate has no idea how to operate stores. They make every store remove all their action alley displays and then just a few short weeks later they make all the stores put them back on the salesfloor!! I mean WTF?? If you calculate the payroll involved in this for all stores its an astounding $4 Million!! Why don't they let the Store Managers run the store?

Cons

Fire you at the drop off a dime. I've seen store managers with over 25 years with the company be fired for some of the stupidest reasons. I've seen 4 asst mgrs get walked out of a store because they weren't asking a question on the interview applicant sheet! Really?? Fired for not asking a question??

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
