Pros
It’s a great company save more live better they say which can be true at times. Corp cards, paid mileage and meals with lodging. However, the job itself you will find nothing about. You will need to learn on the job training ASAP become quickly relevant with store processes and delegation tasks as this will be 90% of the job. The other %10 percent is hands on but what I really mean is 90% If you don’t think you can keep up overnight and deal with a lot of gossiping do not bother if you can don’t take anything personal just remember that you are there as a tool and you have a deadline to meet ASAP (90 days to 120) most times 90 days don’t be afraid to touch fixtures or build anything just act like you know and get made fun of and get it done !!!!
Cons
Don’t tell on anyone these people are like a posse they will walk on you if you fail initiation and every store. You will start at a neighborhood store. Then a supercenter. Pray your third party contracted groups are smart. Most times they are not, neither will your superiors. You will need a degree if you don’t have a inside person to refer you and even then 50k non negotiable CA is 69k and NY is 72K if you have a degree you may want to try elsewhere or stick with the job til you can not anymore. Your intelligence will be ripped apart there are people who are from certain areas that most Walmarts are located in and will throw you in the trenches. It is constantly changing especially when your RPL is too close with their boss it’s a hot mess.. gossip, favoritism, it could even go way south and divided in the shades of background you come from so pray you can keep your cool and be handled like trash. Typically the RPL will try to keep you super close to them and make you miserable. Sometimes you may even stay next to them or in the same hall and they are CONSISTENTLY watching/listening to your every move to get you out. I’d always get told we were a team but typically it was one sided ah and they will keep a novel to hunt you down big time. Send emails to your self or peers with any given situation so when the big wigs come down on your store you can cover yourself. Many team members are strung out on something, including your superiors. Lots of drinking on the clock by your superiors to see what you will say and see if you’re cool.
