Pros

I loved working at Walmart and I loved my TEAM and we worked great as a TEAM! At times it got a little stressful around the busy times, but we all worked together even if we had a "man down" ( someone was sick). Life happens, right?! I unfortunately, have a disability that my department manager knew about and I was able to do my work and never got to the point to where I was fired. After working with Walmart for just shy of 3 years, I decided I would like to try a different pharmacy setting since I had been in pharmacy retail for 12 years. I left Walmart on good terms, I put in my two week notice and gave my pharmacy manager my resignation letter, finished out my two weeks. When my pharmacy manager and I were doing the exit interview I remember it said REHIRE=YES!!

Cons

After about a year working at a different pharmacy setting, I decided I wanted to come back to Walmart because I missed working with my old crew and I missed working at a retail pharmacy. I let my previous pharmacy manager who was standing with the district manager at the time, that I had reapplied for the pharmacy technician position and would love to come back. I also, applied to several different stores including Sam's Club stores. A few months went by, and no word. I find out that my home store had hired someone else, so I tried a different store. After applying at the second store, the pharmacy manager told me that the district manager didn't feel comfortable hiring me back because "I called in sick too much!" The last time I had worked for Walmart, it had been 5 months between the time I had "called in sick!" Is that too much for someone with a disability?! I emailed the district manager and explained my situation and basically begged him for a second chance to come back. I actually wanted to come back to work for Walmart!!! He still hasn't returned my email and it has been almost 5 months now!! I have interviewed with two other Walmart pharmacies and they never called me back either!! I have given up on Walmart now, and have been to around 10 DIFFERENT companies and interviews and NO ONE will hire me! I have 18 YEARS experience and because of Walmart, NO ONE will hire me! THANKS A LOT!!!!

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
