Walmart trying too hard to reinvent itself and forgetting where they came from and employees paying for it - Assistant Manager Walmart Employee Review

Pros

Good benefits, lots of stores nationwide make it easy to transfer if you choose. Generally good job security.

Cons

Customers are Number 1, not employees. Past few years have been followers of our competitors rather than leaders of the industry. Have wasted millions on trying things they do and then millions more reversing these ideas. Most employees with some time with the company could have told "them" that. That is the real problem in a nutshell.

Pros

Good salary, PTO, total benefits

Cons

Working weekends and holidays. It can also be hard to get PTO dates approved, at time, despite submitting far in advance.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
